Mostafa Hamidi was born in Fariman in 1951. Although the origin of Coffeehouse painting is considered to be Tehran, but the city of Mashhad has also had a significant role in its development due to its religious background. Mostafa Hamidi’s works were published in the book “Sote Delan” and “From Coffeehouse to Niavaran” by Hadi Saif. Many of his works are kept in museums, including the Museum of Contemporary Arts. In addition to painting coffee houses for many years, Mustafa Hamidi took photographs of pilgrims and visitors in their studio in Mashhad. His older brother Mohammad, was his teacher in coffee house painting.
